AWS Lambda adds Java 8, 11, 17 support on Amazon Linux 2023
AWS Lambda now supports Java 8, 11, and 17 on Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023), available via managed runtimes and container images. This enables migration from Amazon Linux 2 (AL2), which reaches end-of-life June 30, 2026, to AL2023 without immediate Java version upgrades. While AL2-based runtimes will be patched until mid-2027, AWS recommends migrating to Java 21 or 25 on AL2023 for latest features and performance.

Amazon RDS for Oracle adds Reserved Instances for R8i/M8i
Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports 1-year and 3-year Reserved Instances for R8i and M8i instance types, offering up to 53% cost savings. These instances use custom Intel processors for improved performance and memory bandwidth, benefiting customers running various Oracle database workloads. AWS CodeDeploy Expands to Five New Regions
