- Manage AI credit pools for cost centers in GitHub billing UI
Users can now manage AI credit pools for cost centers directly within the GitHub billing UI, expanding on the previous REST API-only capability. This feature is available for Copilot Business and Enterprise on GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- Control AI credit pool limit behavior: block or allow overages
When a cost center's AI credit pool limit is reached, users can configure whether to block further included usage or permit it as additional spend, provided enterprise settings allow overages.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Automatic AI credit pool limit calculation and adjustment
The billing UI automatically calculates and adjusts AI credit pool limits based on assigned licenses as users add or remove them. This removes the need for manual number setting.
Notes (1) ›
- Purpose of AI credit pools and distinction from cost center budgets
AI credit pools prevent cost centers from exceeding their funded Copilot licenses, ensuring adherence to purchased amounts. They are distinct from cost center budgets, which cap metered charges after the AI credit pool is depleted.
