Amazon Redshift RG instances now on trailing track

Amazon Redshift has introduced Graviton-based RG instances on its trailing track (P201), effective July 7, 2026. This expansion allows customers prioritizing production stability to leverage the performance and cost benefits of Graviton processors, offering up to 2.4x faster queries than RA3 instances at a reduced vCPU price. These new instance types, rg.4xlarge and rg.xlarge, can be provisioned or used for resizing clusters via the AWS Management Console, CLI, or SDKs.
