Looker Agentic Workflows Automate Monitoring and Root Cause Analysis
Google Cloud's Looker is introducing Agentic Workflows, a new preview capability that automates data metric monitoring and root-cause analysis using intelligent agents. This feature transforms natural language requests into automated monitoring routines, providing diagnostic summaries via Slack or email to help analysts quickly understand metric changes. Available now in preview for Looker version 26.08 and later, it allows business users to create and manage workflows with administrator oversight.

Looker Agentic Workflows automate the monitoring of data metrics and perform root-cause analysis by interpreting natural language prompts, such as 'Monitor return rates weekly.' The system can automatically run Key Driver Analysis to identify factors causing metric changes.
- Root-cause analysis delivered via Slack and email
When a metric threshold is crossed, notifications include a diagnostic summary of the root causes, delivered directly to Slack or email. This aims to eliminate manual data hunting and reduce reliance on analyst support tickets.

- Interactive sessions for deeper investigation
Each notification includes a link back to Looker's Conversational Analytics, pre-loading the agent's diagnostic findings. This allows users to ask follow-up questions and test hypotheses interactively.
- Centralized workflow management with oversight
A centralized interface allows business users to view and edit their active monitors, while administrators have oversight to review, adjust, or disable workflows across the instance, balancing flexibility with governance.
