EC2 surfaces public SSM parameters for public AMIs
Amazon EC2 now includes public Systems Manager Parameter Store parameters in the metadata for public AMIs. This change simplifies discovering and referencing the latest AMI versions in infrastructure configurations. Previously, this required manual searching, but now the parameter is surfaced directly when describing an AMI. This feature is available to all customers at no additional cost across all AWS regions.
