Features (2) ›
- EC2 C8id, M8id, and R8id instances now available in additional regions
Amazon EC2 C8id instances are now available in Asia Pacific (Mumbai) and Europe (Stockholm), M8id instances in Europe (London, Stockholm), and R8id instances in Europe (London). These instances are powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors and offer up to 43% higher performance and 3.3x more memory bandwidth than previous generation instances.
- Support for Instance Bandwidth Configuration
These instances now support Instance Bandwidth Configuration, enabling flexible allocation of up to 25% between network and EBS bandwidth. This allows for optimal resource allocation tailored to specific workload requirements.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Instances offer increased vCPU, memory, storage, and I/O performance
New C8id, M8id, and R8id instances provide up to 384 vCPUs, 3TiB of memory, and 22.8TB of NVMe SSD storage, which is 3x more than previous generations. They also deliver up to 46% higher performance for I/O intensive database workloads and up to 30% faster query results for real-time data analytics.
Notes (2) ›
- Instance types suited for various workload categories
C8id instances are ideal for compute-intensive tasks like web servers and video encoding. M8id instances are suitable for balanced workloads such as application servers and microservices. R8id instances are designed for memory-intensive applications including in-memory databases and scientific computing.
- Flexible purchasing options available
Customers can acquire these new EC2 instances through Savings Plans, On-Demand instances, and Spot instances, providing flexibility in cost management and availability.
