Claude Desktop Cowork research preview on macOS
Anthropic is releasing Cowork, a new research preview feature for Claude Desktop on macOS. This feature allows Claude to access local files and integrate with MCP, running in an isolated local VM to enhance knowledge work beyond coding. It is currently available for users with Max plans as a preview.

Cowork enables Claude's agentic capabilities within the Claude desktop application for knowledge work, extending beyond coding. It runs locally on the user's machine in an isolated virtual machine.
- Local file access and MCP integrations via Cowork
This new feature allows direct access to local files on your computer and enables integration with MCP. This functionality is part of the Cowork research preview for Claude Desktop.
