Azure SQL Managed Instance now allows users to right-size memory for Business Critical tiers in preview. This enhancement aims to improve performance by preventing memory overprovisioning. The update is available for Business Critical deployments and targets engineers and architects managing SQL instances.

In early May 2026, Azure SQL gained the ability to right-size memory for Business Critical Azure SQL Managed Instance. This feature improves performance by preventing overprovisioning of memory. More information can be found in the documentation.
