Azure Backup adds snapshot backup for SQL Server on VMs (preview)
Azure Backup now supports snapshot-based backups for SQL Server instances running on Azure Virtual Machines. This feature enhances backup performance by utilizing Azure disk snapshots alongside SQL transaction logs. It is currently available in public preview and offers faster, less impactful full backups for large SQL Server deployments.
