AWS DataSync Enhanced mode adds HDFS, Azure Blob, and Hyper-V agent support

AWS DataSync Enhanced mode now supports agent-based transfers from HDFS, Azure Blob Storage, and self-managed object storage, with agents deployable on Microsoft Hyper-V. This enables customers to leverage Enhanced mode's parallelism and detailed metrics for these new locations, including robust HDFS features for regulated industries. The update is available in all AWS Regions where DataSync is offered.

  • Expanded location support for DataSync Enhanced mode

    AWS DataSync Enhanced mode now supports agent-based data transfers with HDFS, Azure Blob Storage, and self-managed object storage. This allows users to leverage the advanced capabilities of Enhanced mode for these storage types.

  • Hyper-V agent support for DataSync Enhanced mode

    DataSync Enhanced mode agents can now be deployed on Microsoft Hyper-V. This provides flexibility for organizations running virtualized environments on Hyper-V to utilize DataSync's capabilities.

  • Enhanced HDFS support features

    HDFS support in Enhanced mode includes multiple NameNode configurations for high availability and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) with Kerberos authentication. This is particularly beneficial for organizations in regulated industries needing to migrate large, encrypted Hadoop datasets securely.
