AWS Compute Optimizer adds EBS volume performance metrics
AWS Compute Optimizer now analyzes IOPS and throughput spikes for EBS volumes, offering better rightsizing recommendations. This enhancement helps balance cost and performance for workloads with bursty traffic. It applies to most AWS Regions for EBS volumes on Nitro-based EC2 instances, with underlying CloudWatch metrics available at no extra cost.

AWS Compute Optimizer now analyzes VolumeIOPSExceededCheck and VolumeThroughputExceededCheck CloudWatch metrics. This provides improved visibility into IOPS and throughput spikes for EBS volume rightsizing recommendations.

- Availability and cost of new metrics
This enhancement is available in all AWS Regions except GovCloud (US) and China. The CloudWatch metrics are free for EBS volumes attached to Nitro-based EC2 instances, excluding standard and Multi-Attach enabled volumes.
