AWS Clean Rooms adds mutable payment configurations for collaborations

AWS Clean Rooms now supports mutable fine-grained payment configurations, allowing customers to specify which partners are authorized to pay for specific cost types after a collaboration is created. This includes SQL queries, PySpark jobs, ML model training and inference jobs, and synthetic data generation.

Customers can add or remove authorized payers for specific cost types through a change request process, which requires approval from collaboration members before taking effect. Payment configurations support multiple authorized payers for SQL and PySpark analyses, allowing selection at the time of analysis submission.

A pharmaceutical research company can collaborate with healthcare organizations, assigning payment responsibility for complex analyses to the research company and for simple SQL analyses to the healthcare organizations. AWS Clean Rooms facilitates this by enabling partners to analyze and collaborate on datasets without revealing or copying underlying data.
