AWS Capability Insights Open-Source Solution Launched

AWS has released Capability Insights, an open-source solution allowing users to deploy regional capabilities data within their own VPC. This self-hosted dashboard is designed for multi-Region architectures, data residency requirements, and compliance reporting, offering an alternative to publicly available data. It automatically updates with AWS service data and analyzes CloudTrail logs and CloudFormation stacks to provide a tailored view of used services, keeping all data within the user's VPC.

  • Deploy Regional Capabilities Data in Your VPC

    Capability Insights is an open-source solution that allows you to deploy regional capabilities data within your own Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). This provides a self-hosted dashboard for teams building multi-Region architectures who require control over their data.

  • Automated Data Refresh and Workload Analysis

    The dashboard auto-refreshes every 24 hours with AWS capabilities data across all Regions, including services, features, API operations, and CloudFormation resource types. The Workload Analysis component filters this data based on your actual usage by scanning CloudTrail logs and CloudFormation stacks.
