AWS Batch adds ordered instance allocation strategies
AWS Batch now supports Best Fit Progressive Ordered (BFPO) and Spot Capacity Optimized Prioritized (SCOP) instance allocation strategies. These features allow users to manually define instance type ordering for compute environments, offering more control over workload performance characteristics. The updates are available via the AWS Batch API and Management Console in all AWS Regions.
- →Support for Best Fit Progressive Ordered (BFPO) allocation strategy
- →Support for Spot Capacity Optimized Prioritized (SCOP) allocation strategy
- →Enhanced control over instance type prioritization
- →Availability via API and Management Console
- →Global availability
Features (2) ›
- Support for Best Fit Progressive Ordered (BFPO) allocation strategy
AWS Batch now offers the BFPO allocation strategy for on-demand compute environments. This allows users to manually define instance type ordering based on workload-specific performance characteristics.
- Support for Spot Capacity Optimized Prioritized (SCOP) allocation strategy
AWS Batch now offers the SCOP allocation strategy for Amazon EC2 Spot compute environments. This allows users to manually define instance type ordering based on workload-specific performance characteristics.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Enhanced control over instance type prioritization
BFPO and SCOP provide users with increased control over instance type prioritization within their compute environments, enabling optimization for specific workload performance needs.
Maintenance (1) ›
- Availability via API and Management Console
These new allocation strategies can be configured using the AWS Batch API (CreateComputeEnvironment or UpdateComputeEnvironment) or through the AWS Batch Management Console.
Notes (1) ›
- Global availability
Both BFPO and SCOP allocation strategies are available today in all AWS Regions where AWS Batch is supported.
