Features (3) ›
- General purpose EC2 instances available in GovCloud (US-East)
Amazon EC2 M8i and M8i-flex instances are now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-East) Region. These instances utilize custom Intel Xeon 6 processors for enhanced performance and memory bandwidth.
- M8i-flex instances for broad general-purpose workloads
M8i-flex instances are designed for common general-purpose workloads like web servers, microservices, data stores, and enterprise applications, offering standard sizes from large to 16xlarge.
- M8i instances for demanding and large-scale workloads
M8i instances are suitable for workloads requiring larger instance sizes or continuous high CPU usage, including SAP-certified options with up to 96xlarge sizes and bare metal options.
Enhancements (2) ›
- Improved performance and price-performance for general workloads
The M8i and M8i-flex instances deliver up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous generations. They offer up to 20% better performance than M7i instances.
- Optimized performance for specific applications
Performance gains are noted for PostgreSQL databases (up to 30% faster), NGINX web applications (up to 60% faster), and AI deep learning recommendation models (up to 40% faster) compared to M7i instances.
