Amazon EC2 I8ge instances now available in more AWS regions

Amazon EC2 I8ge instances, powered by Graviton4 processors and featuring third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs, are now generally available in AWS Europe (London) and Canada (Central) regions. These storage-optimized instances offer significant improvements in compute and storage performance, with up to 60% better compute performance and up to 75% lower storage I/O latency variability compared to previous generations. They are ideal for workloads requiring fast local storage and low latency access to large datasets, available in eleven sizes and offering high network and EBS bandwidth.

    Amazon EC2 I8ge instances, utilizing AWS Graviton4 processors and third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs, are now available in the AWS Europe (London) and Canada (Central) regions. These instances are designed for storage-optimized workloads.

  • Flexible instance sizing and high network bandwidth

    The instances come in eleven sizes, including two metal options, and offer up to 180 Gbps of network performance and 60 Gbps for Amazon EBS. This ensures fast data transfer for demanding applications.

    Compared to previous Graviton2-based instances, the new I8ge instances provide up to 60% better compute performance. They also leverage local NVMe storage with AWS Nitro SSDs for improved real-time storage performance and lower latency.

  • Optimized storage performance and latency for demanding workloads

    I8ge instances offer up to 55% better real-time storage performance per TB and significantly reduce storage I/O latency and variability compared to Im4gn instances. They are suitable for high random read/write performance and low-latency access to large datasets.
