Amazon EC2 C8i instances launch in Europe (Frankfurt)
Amazon EC2 C8i instances, powered by custom Intel Xeon processors and Nitro cards, are now available in the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) region. These instances offer significant performance improvements in network throughput and packet processing compared to previous generations. They are targeted at security and network virtual appliances and are available via Savings Plans and On-Demand purchasing.

Amazon EC2 C8i instances are now available in the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) region. These instances are powered by custom sixth generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and sixth generation AWS Nitro cards.

C8i instances deliver up to 43% higher performance than previous generation C6in instances. They offer up to 2.5 times higher packet performance per vCPU and up to 2x higher network throughput for traffic through Internet gateways.

These instances are designed for security and network virtual appliances, including virtual firewalls, load balancers, and Telco 5G UPF workloads.
- Regions and purchasing options
EC2 C8i instances are available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Europe (Frankfurt). They can be purchased via Savings Plans and On-Demand instances.
